The Dream Fulfilled
Commissioned by Brian Jones
Medium: Gouache and Pencil on 20 x 30 inch CS2 art board.
It was a great honour to be asked by successful 'around the world' balloonist
Brian Jones to commit his and Bertrand Piccard's epic flight to canvas.
The painting took about 170 hours to paint with many visuals produced before the
final design was chosen.
The clouds represent the atmosphere and the mountains the terrain of the Earth.
The route taken by Orbiter 3 is shown on the "Flat Earth" at the
bottom and the darkened part of the Earth not only represents night time, but I
have tried to make it look like a satellite weather image as a tribute to those
who found the balloon favourable weather systems. I have also included
Brian's lucky Teddy bear and Bertrand's football that sung Ole Ole.

Image size is 1000 x 671 pixels
The image is available as a postcard and hopefully there will be a limited edition print of the image, signed by both pilots. It will be a small edition so if you are interested in owning a copy, please email me with your details.
